Jewellery Care and Metal Disclaimer

Sterling silver is a precious metal that needs a little care to keep it in it's best condition.

S925 means that 92.5% of your silver jewellery is made of soft pure silver, whilst the remaining 7.5% is a mixture of alloy. The alloy assists in making the silver harder so it can be worn day to day and withstand normal wear. Our jewellery is hallmarked with an 'S925' stamp.

The softness of silver can make it unsuitable to use with diamond settings, which is why gold or platinum are the most commonly used metals for expensive stones, as it is harder and the settings are less likely to be damaged.

Silver is approximately 75% cheaper than gold, which allows you to buy beautiful rings at a cheaper price than other metals. We finish all of our silver jewellery with rhodium plating, and like any plating, rhodium can be broken down over time, especially when exposed to chemicals, detergents, harsh cleaners and soaps. This breakdown of the rhodium exposes the sterling silver and may tarnish. Any medications or body chemistry of the wearer can have an affect on the wearing rate of the rhodium finish.

We recommend you use a silver polishing cloth occasionally, to bring your jewellery back to life and remove dirt, tarnish and fingerprints. Use warm soapy water and a toothbrush on your moissanite to keep it sparkling clean.

Well cared for silver jewellery can give you many years of love and enjoyment if you take care of it, at a fraction of the cost of a gold ring!

We do not recommend purchasing rings that you will wear all day, every day in silver, due to the softness of the metal, stones may become loose and/or fall out. Gold/Platinum is much stronger and will better secure the stones in your ring.
